Sherri Ybarra, Idaho Superintendent of Public Schools recently asked lawmakers to increase school funding by $105.6 million next year. That’s a 6.7 percent increase.
With that increase, Idaho’s total general fund education spending plan would be $1.69 billion.
But the proposal certainly provides a moment of pause. Think about it: $1.69 billion represents 48 percent of Idaho’s total budget.
Are these investments producing the learning results Idaho is hopeful for?
