Located on the mighty Snake River, Massacre Rocks State Park is rich in history and full of year-round recreation. Miles of hiking trails provide access to a bounty of plant and bird species, Oregon Trail history and geologic wonders. Rock climbers enjoy numerous climbing routes and a world-class disc golf course offers golfers one of the most challenges courses in Idaho. A scenic picnic area surrounds Register Rock, where emigrant name are inscribed, creating a desert oasis for the modern traveler. Remnants of the Oregon Trail are easily seen from either end of the park.

Things to Know

The entrance fee to all of Idaho’s State Parks is $7.00 per car, with additional fees for camping.
Reservations for stays (campsites, cabins, etc.) within Idaho's State Parks can be made toll-free by phone at: 1-888-922-6743 or online.
Pets are welcome in most Idaho State Parks, but some parks prohibit them in some cabins and yurts and they are prohibited on beaches.
