Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes

Located in Idaho’s northern Panhandle, the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes is a 72-mile paved trail that follows a former Union Pacific Railroad route. The trail begins in the Silver Valley, continues past Lake Coeur d’Alene and rolls through farmlands and the towns of Wallace, Kellogg and Harrison on the way to Plummer. The smooth asphalt trail is perfect for walkers, road bikers, e-bikes and in-line skaters.

In the winter, the trail is a popular spot for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing—explore the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Heyburn State Park and the Palouse prairie under a winter blanket.
