Enjoy a journey so remote that you can get away from it all. The  river miles along the Salmon River, also known as The River of No Return, are very scenic. The Salmon River flows by old-growth Ponderosa pine trees, white sandy beaches, and vertical granite rock formations in the Salmon River canyon.

Things to Know

  • Jet boat trips on the Salmon River above Riggins are available for steelhead fishing in the Fall and fishing for chinook salmon in the summer.
  • This portion of the Salmon is class III-IV, which means big rapids!
  • Most outfitters offer half or full-day tours with some offering overnight stays.
  • Life jackets are provided on outfitted trips.
