Does early education build a stronger economy? Could that be measured or even quantified?

A study done on the Perry Preschool program over several decades showed that students who attended preschool had greater educational attainment than students who did not. The attending students also had more significant gains in characteristics like persistence and diligence.

The study summarizes that if a higher percentage of US Citizens attended pre-school, that in one generation, the national GDP could grow by 3.5%. That’s 2,034 Billion in today’s dollars.

What could change over a generation in Idaho when education starts early?
